I’ve been playing around with all my new cardmaking supplies and one of them is fun foam! I watched a video tutorial (bottom of this post) on techniques for adding dimension to cards. It’s so much fun and I bought a stack of assorted colored fun foam as well as the white.
I had intentions to sell this card I made in my Etsy store for Valentine’s Day but I got carried away with the distress ink and got too much on the edges so instead it will stay on my desk as a sample! Live and learn right!
I bought a 12 x 12 pattern paper pack, it’s called “watercolor ombre” and it has some beautiful patterns! I’m a little obsessed with watercolor so I wanted to use it for this card. I began by cutting it down to just under an A2 size (3-3/4″ x 5″) as well as the fun foam and adhered that to my card base. I’m trying to use pattern paper more because you can really make cards very quickly and it’s perfect if you have to mass produce for any occasion. The hearts were die cut on the fun foam as well and I found I didn’t need my metal cutting plate with the fun foam. My Sizzix Big Shot Express cut them out perfectly!
The sentiment strip I printed on my computer and glued it across the card. I then distressed the edges with the picked raspberry distress ink. I love distressing edges of paper! Again, I should have gone a bit easy and I’ll know that for next time. Still, I love how this turned out and it was a lot of fun! In fact, I made 4 more fun foam dimension cards and they’re on sale in my Etsy Shop!
