Welcome back to my 2019 Holiday Cards Collection Lookbook Blog Series! For this last post, I’m sharing 3 card designs feature one of the cute snowmen from the Simon Says Stamp, “Shake your Feathers this Season” stamp set. I used my alcohol markers to give him different colors on the 3 cards. For the embellished windows part, I used a combination of white embossing powder mixed with Distress Glitter and for the other card, I used small die cuts from fun foam paper from a previous project.
If you want to know how (in detail) to make the windows in these cards, read my Snowy Backgrounds post here! I am definitely not taking credit for this technique, this is Jennifer McGuire’s fault since she taught it! LOL, just kidding! It’s a fun method and I highly recommend you give it a try.
I won’t go into detail about the windows part since, I’ve linked to the post on that in detail above. Instead, I’ll list the colors I used on the snowman and at the end, I’ll have a full list of all the supplies used.
For our 1st card, I used Copic colors: B00 (Frost Blue) for the scarf, hat brim and pom pom. For the body, E00 (Pale Fruit Pink) with the colorless blender and a little of the B00. The hat is blended with E11 (Barley Beige) and YR21 (cream). The nose is #E11.
This 2nd card, I used Copic colors: B00 and E11 for the scarf, hat brim and E11 for the pom pom. For the body, E00 with the colorless blender and a little of the B00. The hat is YR21 and the nose is #E11.
This 3rd card, I used Copic colors: E11 for the scarf and mixed it with B00 for the hat brim and E11 again for the pom pom. The body and nose are colored the same as the previous cards. I also added very little of Studio 71 B2 Ice Blue on the body of all these cards.
With my white gel pen, I drew dots to mimic snow falling. I love the blue cardstock (pastel 110 lb.) by Neenah for these cards cause it just screams winter to me. To add dimension, I cut out a piece of fun foam to just a shy smaller than my panel (which is 4″ x 5-1/4″). I adhered this to Neenah 110 lb. solar white card stock (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ A2 size) and added the sentiment strip by Simon Says Stamp with some 3D foam squares. And, my cards are done!
It took some time for me to finish these cards but I absolutely LOVE how they turned out and it’s the best way to end our 2019 Holiday Cards Collection! You’ll find these cards in the Shop for a short time so grab them while you can here !
